Here are a few suggestions on where to go for lunch or dinner in Westwood Village:
ACAPULCO: 1109 Glendon Ave., (310-208-3884).
This restaurant
offers an extensive menu of Mexican standards plus some creations
of their own. They’re famous for their sizzling fajitas as well as
specialty dishes like fresh roasted Yucatan chicken, carne asada,
Mexican shrimp scampi or the Sea of Cortez, which features grilledhalibut with a choice of three sauces. They offer a wide assortment
of Margaritas as well. Hours: 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. Monday–
Thursday; Sunday from noon–10:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m.–12:00 a.m.
Friday and 11:00 a.m.–12:00 a.m. Saturday. Also located at 8360

BAJA FRESH: 10916 Lindbrook (310-208-3317).
Healthy Mexican
style food, made fresh daily. They use only boneless, skinless,
chicken breasts and lean steak trimmed and charbroiled. No lard is
used. Try their fresh salsa and chips which are made with 100%
canola oil. Other locations include 2210 Sawtelle, West L.A., and
13424 Maxella Ave., Marina del Rey.
CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN: 1001 Broxton Ave. Westwood,
(310-209-9197).
BBQ chicken, duck sausage, Cajun, Thai chicken
and shrimp pizza are some of the unique “wood-fired” pizzas
available here at reasonable prices. Salads include Greek salad with
lemon-herb dressing, hot and chilled spinach salads, apple and
chicken salad with walnuts and more. Try their BBQ chopped salad.
Calzone and pasta are also served. Excellent service; moderate

Their menu includes
baby back ribs, fajitas, burgers, grilled steaks, boneless buffalo
wings, a variety of sandwiches and Southwestern eggrolls. Try their
colossal onion which is sliced, hand-battered & fried. Kids’ menu
available, too. Good service, modest prices. Open until 11:00 a.m.
every morning, until 11:00 p.m. on week nights, until midnight on
Friday and Sat. and until 10:30 on Sunday
CORNER BAKERY CAFÉ: 1019 S. Westwood Blvd. (310-824-1314).
Enjoy their fresh baked breads, specialty sandwiches, hot soups,
crisp salads, tasty pastas, deliciously decadent sweets for breakfast,
lunch, or dinner. Try their Tomato Mozzarella Sandwich or Tuna
on Olive Ciabatta Bread. Country Sourdough is their most popular
bread, but you can make your sandwich with any of their delicious
offerings, including Traditional Baguette, a Parisian baguette with a
thin, crisp crust and delicate interior or Steakhouse Rye, a dense
bread packed with raisins, sunflower seeds and flavored with
molasses. Running short on time? Phone your order in and they’ll
have it ready when you arrive.
DAPHNE’S GREEK CAFE 10889 Lindbrook Ave., Westwood
(310-208-6931) Greek menu served in a casual, friendly, family-style
setting. Murals featuring blue, sunny scenes of classic Greece and
the Greek Islands lend pleasant ambiance. Try their chicken gyros
made with white meat and spicy goat cheese or their Spicy Greek
Chicken Salad, a classic Greek salad topped with marinated chicken
breast and Daphne’s Fire Feta cheese spread. Special kids’ menu.

DAMON & PYTHIAS: 1061 Broxton Ave. (310-824-8777).
Suitable for
lunch, catering, or a business bite. The menu choices range from
healthy sandwiches, including rosemary-lemon marinated chicken,
to home-made soups, to specialty house signature dishes such as
daily flavored smashed spuds, fresh cut garlic fries, and individual
desserts. You can create your own salad or try one of their 5
specialty salads. Open Sunday–Thursday 11:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Also

DI STEFANO'S RISTORANTE: 1076 Gayley Ave. (310-208-5117).
A family-run Italian restaurant hidden among the shops in Westwood
Village. Di Stefano’s offers veal, shrimp, chicken florentine, several
vegetarian dishes and excellent homemade pastas all at very
reasonable prices. Beer and wine. Open for lunch Monday–Friday
11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; dinner Monday–Friday 5:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.;
Saturday 12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.; 12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
FALAFEL KING: 1059 Broxton Ave. (310-208-4444).
Fast food
restaurant offering falafels, shwarmas and a large selection of middle
eastern salads. Carry out available. Open until 12:00 a.m. Sunday–
Thursday, and 10:30 a.m.–1:30 a.m. Friday–Saturday.
FIRST SZECHUAN WOK: 10855 Lindbrook Dr., Westwood (310-208-7785).
A small, informal restaurant offering Mandarin and
Szechuan cuisine. Their luncheon menu, served from 11:30 a.m.–
3:00 p.m., includes large portions of entree, eggroll, rice, soup,
salad, tea and fortune cookie at a modest cost. Entrees can be
cooked without salt, sugar, or corn starch. Open Monday–Thursday
11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday ’til 11:00 p.m., and
Sunday noon–10:00 p.m.
HEADLINES DINER: 10922 Kinross Ave. (310-208-2424).
At this tiny
diner with its large menu, you can order up burgers, sandwiches,
omelettes, quesadillas, hotwings, salads, and desserts. Free refills
on all soft drinks. Open Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–midnight; and
9:00 a.m.–midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
JERRY'S FAMOUS DELI: 10925 Weyburn, Westwood (310-208-DELI).
Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late supper, and
snacks. Traditional deli fare includes pastrami, corned beef, chopped
liver, knishes, kreplach, chicken soup, beef brisket, knockwurst,
smoked fish platters, chicken-in-a-pot with matzo balls, and much
more. Their large breakfast menu is available all day and night.
Portions are ample. You can order party platters for all occasions;
delivery service and take-out (on selected menu items) available.
Open Monday–Thursday and Sunday 7:00 a.m.–2:00 a.m. (next day)

Beef,
chicken and fish, salads and soups, elegantly prepared and served.
Excellent service; an extensive wine collection featuring hard-to-find
varietals from highly regarded Napa Valley wineries. Appetizers
include crispy crab cakes, seared ahi tuna; entrees include Half-
Moon Artichoke Ravioli, Maine Lobster & Shrimp Gnocchi, steaks,
short ribs, and much more. A great place to celebrate a special
occasion. Open 11:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. for lunch and 5:30–10:00 p.m.
for dinner Monday–Thursday; until 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday,
and from 5:00–9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Palomino is an upbeat city restaurant and bar known for its rich
and stylish ambiance. European-inspired regional American Cuisine
served in tasteful surroundings at reasonable prices. Menu entrees
include rotisserie chicken with lemon and sage or garlic and
rosemary, brick-oven roasted garlic or crab stuffed prawns, paella,
lobster ravioli, salads, soups and Roma style pizza. Open for lunch
Monday–Friday 11:30–3:00 p.m. and open until 10 p.m. for dinner
Monday–Thursday and Sunday; until 11 p.m. on Sunday. Their bar
is open until midnight weekly, until 1 a.m. on Saturday.

Long a favorite of the UCLA community, Sepi’s has been serving subs for over 24 years. This tiny diner also offers deli platters,
salads, veggie platters and beer. Open 10:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. daily.
