M-Business Answers:
You have mispelled the server address. Go to M-Business Connect both in your computer and PDA and make sure
you have "sync.medsch.ucla.edu" as the server address.
You have entered an incorrect username and/or password. Go to M-Business Connect both in your computer and PDA
and make sure you have spelled and entered the correct username and password.
Log into sync.medsch.ucla.edu, click on "Clear Channel Cache", "Clear Cookies" and "Clear Authentication Info"
and sync.
Make sure you've added the correct server address when setting up M-Business client on your computer, "sync.medsch.ucla.edu".
Unless your M-Business knows where to go to fetch the content, it will not download it.
You must follow the directions given on the UCLA M-Business Support Section to avoid these errors.
If you have set up the correct server address, you need to sync again to retrieve all the
subscribed channels. If you're still getting the same message, go to MBConnect on your
PDA, click on the "Settings" button, check "Refresh All Content", and sync your PDA again.
Check to make sure:
- you have at least 2 MB of memory left on your PDA.
- HotSync Manager is turned on. You should see
on the lower right of your computer when it is on.
- HotSync Manager is set to sync. To check, right click on the HotSync manager and click Custom. M-Business Connect should be listed on there and set to "Synchronize the files".
- M-Business or MBConnect are not stored in a memory stick.
- MBConnect is installed on your PDA. If it is not installed on your PDA, go to M-Business installation directory in your computer and add MobileLink.prc
- "Update During Next Sync" is checked in the MBConnect
Re-sync your PDA. If you're still getting the same message, go to MBConnect on your
PDA, click on the "Settings" button, check "Refresh All Content", and sync your PDA again.
No. Any Palm application that requires information to be updated (i.e.: M-Business, Epocrates) should be installed on the main memory and not on a memory stick.
Some applications are being automatically "pushed" to your PDA. All you have to do is synch your PDA with M-Business. If you have subscribed to these channels, you will see them appear twice on the PDA. Simply click on the "Remove" button at the top of the M-Business home page on your PDA, and select all the channels which appear twice. These channels will be automatically deleted when you synchronize again.
You must first establish a connection. To do so:
- Go to the main screen of your PDA and click on Prefs icon
- Select Network
- Point the infrared on your PDA to the infrared on the IR Port and
configure the following:
- Service: AT&T WorldNet
- User Name: username@worldnet.att.net
- Password: Prompt
- Connection: IR to a PC/Handheld
- Press Connect button. You should see the green light flashing on the IR Port device.
Once you have established a connection (screen will show "Established" and your Connect button will turn to Disconnect), tap on the home icon to go back to the main screen of your PDA.
To sync M-Business:
- Go to MBConnect.
- Click on Sync this Server.
**Make sure the infrared on your PDA is pointed at the infrared on the IR Port throughout the syncing process.**
Make sure you've synced twice. When you run out of battery, your PDA loses all of its applications and data. You will need to sync 2 times to restore everything. The first sync, will restore all your address book, datebook data, as well as all the applications you had on there, including M-Business and Epocrates. The second sync will connect you to the M-Business and Epocrates Server and restore the actual content of those two applications. If after the second sync, you still cannot see your subscribed channels, go to MBConnect on your PDA. Click on "Settings", check the "Refresh All Content" box, and sync again.
