IDTU services are available to all School of Medicine faculty and designated staff involved in four year undergraduate medical education. On special occasions, support is offered for projects related to post graduate education only if there is a considerable overlap between the two groups, and medical students also benefit from the development.

- Provide design and development support to faculty
- Develop interactive applications for web based, handheld or hybrid technologies
- Teach students and faculty
- Evaluate new technologies
- Host the School of Medicine curriculum
- Maintain and administer the School of Medicine web based curriculum
- Evaluate and conduct research on projects developed at IDTU
- Write grants and produce other scholarly work
